Medieval Times
After reading a recent
IGN article and listening to mutter amongst my Elder Scrolls Online guildies, I
decided I would like to take on a project inspired by the Warhorse Studios Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Currently,
the game is being promoted through kickstarter and is boasting a realistic
Medieval setting. Although the 2D starter kit does not give the realistic
graphics Warhorse Studios project will give, I would like to pursue the idea of
achieving an accurate Medieval experience. I would like to implement large
scale battles and fortresses that can be raided and taken along with a rich
story and combat system.
Obviously I will have
to stay within the scope I am provided, but I believe I can achieve many of
these elements through non-major altercations to the current game. For
instance, I would like to take the player sprite and duplicate it to act as
NPC's. In order to differ them from the player though, I may need to change
some of their color schemes. I can also use previously existing buildings as
fortresses and camps. The only issue would mainly be changing the game to allow
for these new elements to occur (like correct spawns, or noticing the winner of
a battle). There is more specific idea's I may want to look into, but I will
need to obtain a hands on approach to the starter kit before I can decide any
other elements I can possibly include.
